By accessing or using the Speaker Slam® website at speakerslam.com, attending our events, or participating in our programs, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
Speaker Slam® Inc. is a speaker development agency and competition platform based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We operate North America's largest inspirational speaking competition, offering monthly themed competitions, speaker development programs, and related services.
Application and Acceptance: Submitting a competition application does not guarantee a spot. All applications are reviewed, and acceptance is at the sole discretion of Speaker Slam®. Accepted applicants will be contacted to discuss the competition process and available packages.
Entry Fees: Competition participation requires payment of the applicable package fee. Package details and pricing are available on our apply page.
Speech Rules: Competitors must deliver an original 5-minute speech on the assigned theme. Exceeding 5 minutes and 31 seconds results in point deductions of 1 point for every additional 5 seconds. Props are allowed. Music requiring technical setup is not permitted. Full judging criteria are provided to accepted competitors prior to the event.
Judging and Results: Speeches are scored on a 100-point system by a panel of industry judges. Judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal. Prize values stated are approximate and subject to change based on sponsor and judge contributions each season.
All fees related to Speaker Slam® competition packages and services are non-refundable and non-transferable. This includes competition entry, coaching sessions, branding services, media engagement, video production, and all other deliverables included in your package.
Access to all components of your package is contingent upon the completion of all payments, including those under a payment plan. Speaker Slam® reserves the right to withhold competition video assets and other deliverables until payments have been made in full.
For payment plans, the initial payment is processed immediately upon enrollment. Subsequent payments are billed monthly on the same date as the initial payment.
Enrolling in a Speaker Slam® competition package signifies your commitment to delivering your best performance and fully engaging in all aspects of the program.
Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. If you are feeling unwell or have a contagious illness, you should not attend the competition.
