having lived each third of my life in a different country I gather plenty of stories of how saying yes with blind optimism and no Ro map has been the key to my successes but today I want to share with you someone else Story three months ago on Canada's Day morning my youngest son just 15 was heading to work at a local resta in Montreal while he was at the Metro or should I say the subway he noticed something quite unusual for him a homeless man lying on the floor looking more unconscious than as sleep concern he tried to wake the man but despite his efforts

the man did not steer people passing by were glancing at him as is sharing the concern with him however no one stopped they kept walking as if this was none of their business on the turn my son decided to call 911 while he was on the line the dispatcher asked him to wait at the station so he can guide the ambulance crew when they arrive and when the policemen finally arrive they thank him but one cop said to him thank you son for calling people never do you did well you can go now now after work my son shared with us what transcribed that morning

and I asked him how do you feel with all of this he paused for a moment and said Mom what truly hurts me is what the policeman said that people don't bother calling ouch I could see the disappointment in his eyes and it struck me deeply so I took a deep breath and said to him danielito mamore the world is not perfect but that's what we're here to make it better like you did to reveal the light in every situation because love and light cure all boo boos but then his response left me speechless and that's quite rare you can ask my husband he said

Mom I feel perplexed by people who don't believe in God but I understand you can see God and that's a barrier for many people to believe in something that you cannot see but people people Are Not Invisible how can you ignore another person or say no to another human being God I want wanted to smother him with kisses but since he's 15 I kept my cool but my heart my heart was filled with pride and gratitude for the three beautiful children we have it's true that my husband and I had made generosity a guiding principle in our family meaning that whenever we can say yes

without hurting ourselves or them we do and I know children watch and learn from their parents but this this was something else it was only as I listen to him recount the story at the dinner table that the true power of yes has dawn on me well before I saw it as Having the courage to say yes to Opportunities and figure out the how later now I see it as a commitment the commitment to act on the values and the changes we want to see in the world here's a funny fact most people when they ask are you a good person they will say yes

and that's because we judge ourselves based on our good intentions however when you ask them what have you done today that aligns with your intention they might might actually fall short you see the true power of yes lies beyond the intention it is when we cross from intention to action that we actually activate that power maybe that's why I became an engineer and then a coach both harness the power of turning ideas into reality I want to leave you with a final thought what my son did that morning was beyond believing in people he crossed that bridge from intention to action and here's what I

believe we all have the power to change the world one years at a time because it's one world one Mission and many of us thank you
