Daddy's dead those are the words I heard walking into my house after my very first High School dance my uncle was there neighbors were there it was confusing my heart swelled I didn't know how to be I sat on the stairs and froze listening to my mom cry uncontrollably hoping she wouldn't wake up my little sisters I didn't want them feeling this way and I didn't want to tell them it was just us now my dad a hardworking Italian immigrant who loved his family and that night was working overtime when he was electrocuted he was 33 my mom a quiet shy introvert who didn't even

like to order her own meal at restaurant but when she became a single mother she found her voice she went back to school earned a degree and became a teacher a childhood goal of hers I wanted to be resilient like my mom for my family but I was 14 and I didn't know how so I buried my sadness and I would only cry alone in my room scream in my pillow please come back determined and confused I continued to bury that sadness in School Achievements and by my senior year I was high school president and top of my class and on the outside I was

crushing it and on the inside it was the Applause from others that kept me going and that worked for a long time I wanted to make a difference and became a teacher I got married had kids bought a house check check check and then I turned 40 and the universe was like girl what are you doing what was I doing I was burnt out from the chaos at school I was giving out my lunches so that I could catch up on emails and at home I was making dinner and running to soccer and piano you name it my kids tried it and even though I

knew it was too much I kept going kept pushing and one day after work I came home frustrated even angry because schools are not what they used to be and I needed to be alone and I went upstairs not really sure what to do I sat in the quiet for 10 minutes and that small act became a habit those 10 minutes became 30 minutes and I learned to hear my voice there's this other side to resilience it's connected to who you are what you believe what you value I wanted that resilience redefined and so I intentionally chose to stop the chaos to shift Inward and

reconnect with my goals and my dreams and I started to shine from the inside out and that's what the universe was telling me girl stop the chaos shift Inward and shine and the more I did that the more confident I became my life balanced and calm I went from burnt out teacher to running my own coaching practice to Leading the mindset Revolution an Empowerment Group of 1300 women and last week I became a best-selling author I know it's crazy it's crazy everything is possible and although I didn't share that for the Applause this time it was nice though I want you to know what's on

the other side of the hustle and bustle culture it's the life you're waiting for you know it it's here it's here and I need to remind you that it's short claim it at any age at any stage but remember life is short and I often wonder if my dad would be proud of the decisions I made if he could do it over again would he choose differently you and I we're still here tomorrow morning you can stop the chaos shift Inward and shine I double dog dare you thank you
