Transcript
I fell flat on my face it is dark I can't see anyone so I scream no one answered me ice cream louder no one still didn't answer me oh my God I'm screaming inside of my head that's why nobody can hear me and that's why nobody answered me that is because my voice had to be silent so I cannot use my voice I went through an assault to my body just like many young adults that's going through right now in this present moment and they have no voice because when you go to speak your truth you're told if you say anything you will bring shame
to the family no one will marry you and you will live all alone so what did you do you silence your voice and you continue living words is powerful words have the power to shape your identity so for myself and young adults we grew up into adulthood we develop depression anxiety some completed suicide or lived their entire life with suicide thoughts this is because of our cultural belief that we cannot speak Our Truth and we cannot come forward I no longer hide my voice I didn't had it verbally but I found it during writing so I wrote a book called unleash and in that book
has many traumas how I overcome them and where why I'm standing on this stage here today it's a privilege for me standing in front of each and every one of you because I found my voice via writing I did not find my voice verbally because I did not trust that somebody was there to listen it's an honor to hear the words Nila thank you very much for sharing your story I got the courage to go to therapy Nila thank you very much were you inside my head because that's my story now the only way for you to get your voice back is by finding where
you leave your power or who you give it to now I invite you to do this affirmation with me if you can sit straight in your chair please right hand on your heart and breathe in tell yourself this is where I belong braid out visualize where you take your had your power left your power or whom you give it to stretch both of your hands out grab that power and hug yourself this is your power take a deep breath in braid out open your eyes this is your power and this is how you can get your voice back this is how you can make a
difference in somebody else's life encourage them how to get their power back with these few words I encourage you Define your voice and find your purpose in life thank you
