Patrick has a luring disability my doctor said those are the first words that came out of his mouth let my mom's eyes feeled fear worry anxiety what does that mean mom am I going to be okay I was too young to understand at the time but knew it wasn't any good out to the point in my life and a perod normal kid I like to pay my friends and spend time outside but something always felt different every time I would speak I'd see confusion people would lean in and try and hear me and say what do you mean I've heard that so many times in
my childhood what do you mean eventually they look for my mom for her to explain and then she always speak for me on her behalf and then people would smile and Nod and avoid talking to me again as a Filipino there wasn't a lot of understanding or acceptance than those with learning abilities and I was frowned upon my parents were already worried for me and I felt so guilty for causing them stress my speech of payment was the strangest experience all information would come to my head and all made sense to me and I understood it but somewhere between my brain and my mouth things
got mixed up all the words didn't come out properly imagine being trapped in that it is so frustrating when I started school in carer Garden I was placed as special ed and I felt so lonely and isolated and different school was supposed to be a time to develop your social skills but I struggled to make friends my grades were bad and I was always in constant survival mode I had that constant fear that my teacher would retire or leave and I had to be transferred something that has to do with more than once I had a very painful childhood but then that one day my
life changed during my school visit with my school olist and asked her when will I ever be out of special ed classes then she said when you feel ready and capable I was instantly joyful inside it was the first time I felt so joyful and hopeful and then I also felt so empowered and was the first time in my life that I had control of where I want to go everything changed for me in an instant I pushed myself out of my comfort zone on the day-to-day basis I ran for student council join the 5H team and I volunteered for literally anything and everything that
will push me to grow my innate determination has been car with me until this very present day and it's a secret weapon that been carried me at at all times and is that's the reason why I am on the stage tonight as an adult I contined to invest in my own growth and use it to propel me forward my drive in termination has led me to becoming a one-time International best selling author and inspirational speaker and learning from multi-million and billion mentors that have made it I'm driven to help those learn his abilities and showing them that success is possible when you take the lead
into your life and saying yes to your dreams I'm also committed to help help other young Filipinos that have been held back by their burdens and challenges my learning disability isn't only the only burden and challenge that she may face something May imped your growth and you feel hopeless and frustrated you may struggle to grow your business or make money or lose weight or any any life major challenges that you may face today why can type my own experience is that you can say yes to your life and take control and not only that you can continue invest in yourself and go all in with
what you want to do the victories are even sweeter and your life can change too by saying yes and to quote my school psychologist the minute you feel ready and capable thank you
